YOU MUST ADD THIS TO YOUR “TO BE READ” LIST!

This book blew me away. Going into this book, I had no idea what it was about because the synopsis is vague. But I heard so many positive reviews; I had to dive into it myself. And wow…Wounded turned out to be a unique love story and so well-written, that at times, I felt like I was there. It was heart-wrenching, emotional, and powerful!

Without giving away too much, Wounded is about a blossoming love story between two complete opposites during the middle of a war. No, it’s not just a simple love story about a girl falling for an American Soldier; it goes way deeper than that.

It starts with Rania, a beautiful Iraqi girl, whose family was torn apart in the war. She’s left alone to survive and over the years, she struggles (and I mean seriously struggles) to keep herself alive. She resorts to prostitution, not by choice, but the only way to feed herself and live. It becomes the only life she really knows.

Hunter is an American soldier (serious alpha male), who ends up wounded on Rania’s doorstep during a gun battle. Immediately drawn to Hunter, Rania is unable to leave him there to die. So she takes him in to care for him as best as she can. The interesting part about their relationship is their communication (or lack of). Hunter does not speak Arabic nor does Rania speak English. But overtime, they slowly learn to communicate with each other. During his stay with Rania, Hunter begins to figure out what she does for money and quickly becomes protective of her (all while falling for her). Rania doesn’t understand Hunter’s protectiveness, because she has only known what men really want from her—her body. Their relationship slowly develops, but not without the chaos!

I highly recommend this book, it’s not your typical romance/erotic novel, all hearts and flowers—it was so out of the box and well written; I finished it in a few hours. Of course it does have a HEA, but getting there was definitely a page turner. And hands down, Rania, is probably the most heroic heroine in a book.

Favorite Quote: “He does not just fill my body, my womanhood. He fills me. My heart, my soul. He fills the horrible emptiness that has gaped inside me all my life.”

This is the story of Connor O’Neil and Rory James who have been mortal enemies since grade school and it has continued through adulthood.  Don’t worry those Bradford boys makes appearances in the book as Rory is their cousin.

This book is one of my favorites in the series. Connor is a seriously hot bad boy…who is a charmer and troublemaker.  And he himself a few tattoo’s with special meaning (can’t say anymore without giving away to much). Rory is the only girl in a family full of boys who is also quite a troublemaker.  There story is so great.  I laughed so hard at the pranks that these two pulled on each other.  And there are some HOT scenes in this book that will leave you needing a drink!!!  Another winner here – you can’t go wrong!!

Book Review: Rule (Marked Men #1) by Jay Crownover

Rating: 4.5 stars out of 5

I highly recommend this book, it’s a heart-warming (and heartbreaking) story about family, falling in love and learning to move on from tragic events. I was pulled in from the start and the constant alternating POVs of Rule and Shaw kept it moving along.

Shaw, a girl, who comes from wealth, but gets not love in return from her own family befriends the Archer family, who takes her in like their own daughter. Shaw has been secretly in love with Rule Archer since she was 13, but the feeling is not returned over the years. Rule, the tattooed/pierced bad boy, who has no emotional attachments after a tragic event, spends his time drinking and sleeping around. Shaw becomes the staple for the Archer family, trying to keep Rule and his family together after this tragic event.

After one drunken night, Shaw and Rule hook up and Rule realizes his feelings for Shaw, but it’s not easy for these two to stay together. They endure a lot to get to their HEA: family drama, crazy exes, and lots of emotional baggage. This is one of my favorite books and a book I continue to re-read!

Favorite Quote: ““I loved Rule like it was my mission in life. I loved him like it was inevitable. Like no matter how many times I was shown what an awful idea it was, what a bad match we were, what a callous asshole he could be I couldn’t shake it.”

This is the story of Rule Archer and Shaw Landon and many years of some hidden feelings and misunderstandings.  Rule is your typical black sheep of the family – a tattoo artist who is covered in tattoo but he loves what he does and is really talented.  We learn a lot about Rules family and the tragedy that has struck his family and some of the dysfunction(And I can’t wait for his brother Rome’s book!!!).

Shaw is in college student who has grown up in a wealthy family that is dysfunctional and unhappy.  She has been in-love with Rule Archer since the day she met him – he doesn’t realize this yet.  To say I love this book is an understatement. I was hooked from page one and could not put it down.  This is a great love story of two people but don’t be fooled this isn’t an easy joining.  Oh the angst in this book…there were times I wanted to toss my e-reader out the window.  I loved the supporting characters as well on both sides.  There was some seriously funny dialogue in this book and there were times when my heart broke.

Let’s not forget that Rule is a seriously hot tattoo artist who has some serious baggage..LOVE HIM.  There are some great intimate scene that have me seriously considering getting a few piercings of my own.

I put this book down at the end and was wishing that it wasn’t over and I can’t wait for the next one.

Favorite Quote: “It’s always been you even when I didn’t want it to be, even when it broke my heart over and over again. It’s just always been you.”

Noel Falcon. The mix of the perfect Book Boyfriend: rock star, hot, tatted, talented, touch of possessiveness, and totally in love with his girl. Wait…let me just swoon for a second.

I loved this novella from the Black Falcon Series. It’s written from Noel’s POV and picks up right after Rock the Heart ends. After they resolved all their “drama” in Rock the Heart, Noel and Lane begin their new life together on and off the road. They get a week off from touring and spend it by holing up in Noel’s secluded home. Their days and nights are filled with steamy, hot, passionate and down-right sexy romps (a definite page turner)! Noel is determined to give Lane “Forever” when touring resumes by making the big commitment–marriage! But it’s not without obstacles: jealousy, family drama, and a little curve ball that life throws at them!

Rock the Band is great read and lets us get into Noel’s head! I’m excited for Riff and Aubrey’s story next in Rock My Bed!

Favorite Quote: “This is just the start to our forever…”

Ahh that Noel is so awesome.  I loved this short Novella from his perspective and his feelings about Lane and his fear of losing her.  If you haven’t read the first in the Black Falcon series definitely read it before this one or you will be a little lost.  I love the Noel more after this book…The first one I definitely had some angst with him but he is hot band member so I cut him some slack.

My favorite part of this book was his setting up the dock for Lane.swoon….  This was a great short read.  Can’t wait for the rest of the boys books!!!
