Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Great Exploitations is a short, quick and fantastic read! It’s a book about Eves, a secret group of women who are hired by wives of very wealthy men. They want out of their marriage, but are stuck with pre-nups. These aren’t wives that just want money, they want money because these husbands can NOT keep it their pants. This is where the Eves comes in. The Eves follow very “CIA” type guidelines to get these men in compromising positions. This story follows, “Sienna,” an experienced Eve who knows how handle cheating husbands to bring them their knees. Her number one rule of being an Eve–“Don’t let it get personal.”

Even though this book is such a short read, it is so detailed and easily explains the working of an “Eve,” that it really makes you feel like you are one! I’m really excited for the next book, because a new assignment falls into “Sienna’s” lap at the end of this book, and it might get a little personal.

So what to say about Great Explorations – a book about women go after the men who cheat.. the Eve’s. This is a quick short book which I am assuming gives the back story for the next book about Sienna and her next “job”. So the book was very interesting and I definitely liked the book but I was confused where the book was going till the end. It was a quick easy read and definitely you will want to read it before the next book.

As a side note my counterpart in this blog did say she wants to part of the Eve organization.. So “G” if you are out there get in touch with her!!!

ARC Review: Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett

Off Sides
Goodreads synopsis of Off Sides

Jenn
White Chick, Jenn’s Review of Off Sides
Rating: 4 stars out of 5

We were given a copy of this book for an honest review. First things first this is the story of Ryan and Danny (Daniella) and how two people from two different worlds come together. On a side note Ryan is the team captain for his college hockey team – not sure if you know this but this chick loves hockey!!! So I have a particular soft spot in my heart for hockey players especially since a few of my friends still play hockey. Ryan also comes from a very well to do family (and another side note as a college student he drives my dream car – a Range Rover) and really has never seen any other part of life.

Danny’s life has been anything but simple, easy or privileged, but even with that she accept life and lives it to it’s fullest. With her own family no longer living she has an extended family and Paula and Sarge just make this book better.

So this book has some angst.. so be prepared for some angst. It also has the one female character that you want to take and dip their head in the toilet bowl. This is quick and easy read but it didn’t disappoint. And I loved the ending and I mean LOVED. I can’t say much more than that or I will give away to many details, but I will say this there is a HEA. For me I love HEA and this didn’t fail to deliver. OH I loved so many things about the ending.. I can say this I LOVED where the last scene took place……..

Asian Chick, Karmen’s Review on Off Sides

Rating: 3 stars out of 5

Off Sides is a quick read about college romance, college angst, and falling in love with your opposite. Ryan, a hockey team captain and son of an US Congressman, lives a privileged life. He meets Daniella (Danny), a college student who is trying to make ends meet, by working a couple of jobs and volunteering in a homeless shelter. These two meet while Danny is waiting on his table, along with his snotty friends and ex. Of course there is attraction between the two, but they both deny it at first, because of their social circle and different upbringings.

These two eventually fall in love, but it’s not easy–because of Ryan’s family and friends. What I liked about this book, it’s the opposite of most college romance books, where it’s usually about a bad boy/rocker boy falling for the good girl. Off Sides is the opposite! Danny has the purple hair, pierced, and is the one struggling through life. This book is a bit short and I felt like it was rushed, but it did have a HEA. I would also like to have read an epilogue at the end, but overall it was a decent afternoon read!

*MY BAD! There is an epilogue that is released on her website. My version of Off Sides did not have it. It has now been updated on Amazon. But if don’t have it, you can find it here on her website.

And guess who stopped by our blog during this tour? The one and only Mason! We got to interview this rock star yummy!

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

MASON INTERVIEW… Our sit down with hottie Mason, our resident Rock Star from Metamorphosis.

MasonKarmen & Jenn: Thank you for stopping by our blog! We are virgins when it comes to this blog tour. Try to go easy on us…

Mason:  Virgins, huh? Ha – I’ve got a new found appreciation 🙂

Karmen & Jenn: We knew you would!

Karmen & Jenn: Let’s get the “Rock Star” question out of the way first. How and when did you get started? What’s the deal with the nickname, Rat?

Mason:  I started playing around with the guitar when I was a kid, but never took music serious until I was in high school. Me and my friends put together a garage band and started playing at parties and stuff. When my brother Marcus opened the bar, it gave us a place to play regularly. As for the name Rat, my friend Cruz started calling me that when we were kids in little league. Our coach used to call us all by our last name, and so after he yelled “Templeton” for the twentieth time on the first day of practice, Cruz yelled out “Come on Rat boy!” It got shortened to Rat shortly and that’s just what everyone has called me ever since.

Karmen & Jenn: Tell us about your Harley. Were you really thinking about getting one before Scarlett even mentioned it?  Or was it her comment about having the entire bad boy package with it?

Mason: Yeah, I hated that car. It looked great but I was too big and it was uncomfortable as shit. I’ve always wanted a bike, so when Angel said something about it, I thought “yep, definitely need a Harley.”

Karmen & Jenn: You have (or should we say had) the rep of fitting the Rock Star persona–how should we put this nicely? Man-whore? Player?  What is it about Scarlett that attracted you to her when you saw her the first time at the Warehouse? You knew she was “the one,” right?

Mason:  Being in a band has definitely allowed me the opportunity to enjoy my share of the ladies, but I’ve never been against being in a relationship. I had a serious girlfriend for a while, but things didn’t work out. I’m not sure I believe in “the one,” but I definitely knew there was something special about Scarlett when I saw her the first time. She had this look about her… I knew she was supposed to be in my life.

Karmen & Jenn: What was really going through your mind after that first time you meet in the secondary bedroom at the Warehouse? *eye wiggle*

Mason:  Uh… I plead the fifth?  No, actually I was kind of in shock. I figured Scarlett wasn’t real experienced, but I didn’t think there was any way she was a virgin. Who looks like that and hasn’t been fu—I mean had sex? And for her to do what she did… I mean, wow. It was hot.

Karmen & Jenn: How much do you really know about Scarlett and Ash’s relationship? Ash is determined to win her back, you know. But we are so Team Mason!

Mason: I’ve known since the day I met Angel that there was something with her and that asshat- from the way she was trying to make him jealous to when I watched him pull her out of the bar. God, it took everything in me not to jump off of that stage and beat the shit out of him then. But when she came back in and spent the rest of the night with me, I thought I had a shot. He’s determined to win her back, eh? Well, good luck with that. He had his chance and he didn’t take it.

Karmen & Jenn: When did you find out about Evie?

Mason: I found out the afternoon that Scarlett left. I was going crazy trying to find her. I thought she had just freaked out because of what happened, and I got pissed at her. I called and called, and she wouldn’t answer. I didn’t want to get anyone else involved, I thought she would at least call me, but after a few hours, I called Max to see if Evie knew where she was. That’s when he told me. That’s when it all made sense.

Karmen & Jenn: After you woke up that morning, being with Scarlett (her first time), what was going through your mind? Did you think she run?  Did you ever think you’d see her again?

Mason: I knew something was up with Angel when she came over that night, but I just thought she was stressed from her finals that week. Then after everything happened, I just went to sleep. I had no idea that I would wake up alone the next morning. For a while, I thought she would come back… after things calmed down and she had a chance to think about things. But after 5 or 6 months had passed without a word, I accepted she was gone.

Karmen & Jenn:  8 months later, Scarlett walked back into your life (actually onto the stage). Were you shocked, pissed, surprised or happy to see her again? She confessed that you were her fairytale and Prince. *swoon*

Mason:  Shocked and surprised more than anything. I had gotten over my anger as soon as I found out about Evie,  Like I said, I really didn’t think I’d ever see her again, and if I did, I definitely didn’t think it would be with her standing on that stage. I’m not going to lie, her singing a song to me and all that shit she said was really bad ass. I wanted her back the minute I saw her again.

Karmen & Jenn:  Well thank you for taking time to stop by our blog and we hope next time, we can sit down with you and Scarlett!

Asian Chick, Karmen’s Review of  Metamorphosis

Rating: 4 stars out of 5

Team Ash? Team Mason? I’m torn between the two!

Metamorphosis was a quick, sweet and heartbreaking read for me. And I’m wanting book 2, Ambrosia, now! Scarlett, an 18 year old, who has been sheltered her entire life by her parents and then sort of disowned for wanting to live her life in college. Her BFF, Evie, was her escape to live in the “real” world and her new college roommate. They both agreed that it was time Scarlett start living in the real world, first by finding herself a real “book boyfriend!” I loved their friendship in this book. Both Evie and Scarlett were huge readers of books (actual books we love and read!) and I love how they compared these books to their lives. So of course, on her mission to find herself a real “book boyfriend,” she meets Ash.

Ash is the hot man whore, the hot player! And during the same night, she meets Dylan. Dylan is the sweet likable guy (yes, I thought he had no chance!). Scarlett and Ash soon become close friends, only after he tells her that they shouldn’t date, because he isn’t good for her and knows he would hurt her. They continue this “friendship” and watch each other hook-up with others, knowing that it’s hurtful to see.

Then along comes, Mason. Mason is the typical book boyfriend for Scarlett. He’s hot, tattooed, oh and a local rock star! He lives up to his rock star status–a player, but Mason immediately falls for Scarlett. He is sweet, takes care of her and is always there for her. Soon, Scarlett finds herself in a little love triangle…

And who do I choose? Team Ash or Team Mason? I know Mason is perfect for her and the right choice. He loves her and has not hurt his “Angel,” unlike Ash, who hurts her over and over. But Ash and Scarlett have this bond, like soul mates. So this is why I’m still torn between the two. BUT…I’m leaning towards Mason. Maybe Ash will redeem himself in book 2, but then that will just confuse me more!

Favorite Quote: ““Don’t call me angel and I don’t f*ck my just friends.”

Team Mason! I’m Team Mason all the way. Why? Cause he’s hot, tatted, and a rock star. But that’s not the only reason…he clearly loves Scarlett. He is sweet to her and even though he knows about the ” just friends” relationship between Scarlett and Ash, he still is by her side fighting for her.

Ash is a douche. He lives up to his man whore status in this book. He is only with Scarlett when it’s convenient for him, or when she gets too close with another guy. He plays with her heart and is too scared to tell her how he really feels. Evie and Scarlett are funny together. I love their friendship and how they relate their life to smutty books (sounds familiar!). This book is refreshing and also heartbreaking. No spoilers here–you must read it yourself! I’m excited to see how the rest of the story unfolds for Scarlett, Mason and Ash in book 2. Oh and she better end up with Mason!

Favorite Quote: ““We really are little book whores, aren’t we? Not just in the number of books that we read, but in how many of the guys we are in love with, the things we dream about doing with them…”
