Ok first things first I love the KA’s bad-ass male characters – truly I do. This is the story of Shy and Tabby (she is the daughter of Tack from Motorcycle Man) and their journey together. Now if you haven’t read the Dream Man Series already some of the supporting characters you may not understand all the interplay but you by no means will be lost in the book.
I honestly really loved this story because of the interaction between these two and there ups and downs. There were definitely up and downs in this relationship and in their lives. Without giving too much away Shy’s back story was heart breaking and gave such in sight to his character. I also loved that I got lots of Tack and Tyra and even a little Hawk and Lee (these characters are from other Kristen Ashley series Dream Man and Rock Chick).
I honestly can’t read enough Kristen Ashely books and I love her characters – especially the Hot Bunch Bad-Ass Alpha Males. While some people may find it odd I think if some bad-ass hot guy said to me “You get me?” I would most definitely swoon and maybe even faint. I probably would not be able to answer because I would be in shock (in a good way) that someone said that out loud and they would have to ask me again slowly. Like this, “Do YOU…GET…ME??” So what does this have to do with my reivew – well if you have ever read Kristen Ashley you understand her alpha males and this phrase. I can’t recommend more strongly that if you haven’t read Kristen Ashley you start reading them immediately.
Favorite Quote: “You gotta get your head together, you do it here where I can get to you, not somewhere where I gotta haul my ass on a plane to get to you. Are you comprehending me?”
There are 3 things that I LOVED about this book:
1. It has bad ass, hot alpha males
2. It has a bad ass motorcycle club
3. It’s a bad ass Kristen Ashley book
There’s really nothing more to say about Own the Wind. Just like every other KA book, this book is mixed with hotness, humor, action and the typical alpha male that makes me want him to be real–Parker “Shy” Cage. Plus, we get a visit from past Rock Chicks and Dream Man series characters.
I love how Shy and Tabby’s story spans over several years before anything happens between the two. And when it does happen, Shy is always there for Tabby. And as in every heroine in a KA book, Tabby is no different–she’s sassy, smart, strong and willing to protect her man. Oh…and the big tease with Lanie and Hop at the end for Fire Inside (Chaos #2)…I wanted more! Guess I’ll have to wait till June.
So to sum it up, you’re going to read Own the Wind and love it too. Yeah? Yeah.
Favorite Quote: “May feel like you’re fallin’, Tabby, but remember, I’m at the bottom ready to catch you.”
