She’s his…until secrets threaten to tear them apart.
Rock star River Wilde brought Dahlia London back from the brink of hopelessness with his unwavering love and devotion. But their entangled history is about to test the strength of their relationship…
Dahlia was certain she had found true love and met her ‘Once in a Lifetime’ when she reconnected with River. But Dahlia’s world comes crashing down when someone from her past resurfaces, and all of River’s carefully hidden secrets are exposed.
River wants to show Dahlia that life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass—it’s about dancing in the rain. But how many times can one broken heart be mended? Will River and Dahlia be able to stay together or will they be torn apart?
STOP! If you haven’t read Connected (#1), then don’t read this review. And seriously…why haven’t you meet River Wilde yet?
River Wilde. Oh swoon, my fictional love for this man runs deep. And there’s only one team in this book for me and that’s Team River!
After that WTF cliffhanger in Connected; Torn picks up right after that. I felt Dahlia’s pain and heartbreak all throughout Connected and it continued through Torn. Not only did I feel for Dahlia this time, I also felt “torn” and heartbroken for River.
After learning the shocking truth about Ben (and let’s just say–I held my breath the entire time reading that chapter!), Dahlia and River’s love and trust is put to the test. I’m not going to spoil it for you on what happens, who she chooses or how they deal with it, but I can say it totally rocks both worlds of Dahlia and River!
“It changes everything, Dahlia…”
As the shock wears off from learning about Ben; more secrets and lies come to surface between Ben, Dahlia and River. Hurt runs deep for all characters in this book. You feel for Ben, you feel for River and you’ll feel the confusion and anger that Dahlia carries. But does Ben’s return change Dahlia and River’s love for one another or has she truly moved on?
Torn was beautifully written and the love between Dahlia and River is truly a “once in lifetime” story. And their steamy scenes is freaking H-O-T and makes me want to scream out “Yes, River, YES…!”
I love the music choices that Kim incorporates in her books. It just makes me want to run out an buy a collection of retro concert t-shirts! And seriously, I heart her for putting my other fictional love for Jake Wethers from The Mighty Storm in this book! Double swoon for both rock stars.
I cannot wait to read Mended, the third book in the Connected series. We get a sneak peek teaser of Xander’s story at the end of Torn.
