Mia Monroe is running. Running from a person she doesn’t ever want to find her. Running from a past she doesn’t ever want anyone to know. Desperate to find a future, that yesterday, she could only dream of having.
Jordan Matthews likes easy. Easy women. Easy life. Then he meets Mia.
She’s damaged, troubled and has more baggage than any person can carry. But the more Jordan gets to know Mia-for the first time in his life-he finds himself wanting to try hard for something… for someone… for her.
And then life isn’t so easy anymore.
Jordan is everything Mia shouldn’t want. A whole bunch of dirty hotness, tattooed, cocky bad boy, who made his money at poker tables and picked his women up in bars. Yet, Mia finds herself falling for him.
Then the past Mia was running from, quickly starts to catch up with her. Because that’s the problem with running… you have to stop sometime.
And when you stop, you get caught.
Watch out Jake Wethers, there’s a new hottie in Ms. Towle’s books…Jordan Matthews.
Trouble. Lots of trouble going on with the characters in this book. But the two main characters were so likeable, I never wanted their story to end.
I’m a huge fan of Samantha Towle’s books, so I was very excited to get my hands on this and it did not disappoint. She knows how to write swoon-worthy male characters that makes you wish these men were real. Jordan Matthews was funny and a bad boy with a heart. And…a dog lover! Who can’t resist that!
Mia’s story was emotional and heartbreaking. You couldn’t help but root for her in the beginning–I wanted to help and make her strong. Trouble dealt with serious issues of abuse. Some parts were hard to read because it was painful to know that this does happen in real life, but it was very well written. Mia broke away from her troubles, but it was not an easy road for her. She lived in such terrible circumstances, it was the only way of life she knew of.
Running into Jordan was the best thing that happened to her. Even though she didn’t know it at the time. Actually for both of them, Jordan lived his life fast and with many women. Mia is hesitant and scared and Jordan was nothing but kind to her. Even though he knew he should stay away.
Trouble is written in both POVs–I love that we were able to get in each of Jordan and Mia’s heads. This is such a fantastic read, it’s full of heartbreak, angst, little suspense and a big twist. But this story is truly about healing and moving on.
Trouble is a fantastic read. We are fans of Ms. Towle and excited to be part of her blog tour. Mia and Jordan were a perfect couple (eventually when they got there!). Jordan couldn’t have been more sweet and caring towards Mia. He was funny and I loved his relationship with his dog!
Trouble is not all rosy. This book deals with a lot of serious situation of abuse, both physical and mental. But that wasn’t the main focus of the book. It’s about one girl’s journey to overcome her fears, becoming stronger and healing. Mia is an inspiration. She became a strong heroine, learning that she had to help herself and not a let a man help. Even though Jordan was there to protect her.
