Maddox Cross has always had to be tough. When his father went to jail for murder, the teenager took care of his sister and mother. Now on his own and working security at a night club, Maddox wants to become a tattoo artist-a dream that comes closer to reality when he falls for the hottest, most tatted woman he’s ever seen. She’s wild and beautiful, and Maddox will do anything to be with her.
Bee Malone came to town to open up her new tattoo parlor, Masquerade. Since being kidnapped as a young girl, Bee has had trouble getting close to anyone. But when she meets Maddox, she sees that under his hard biker’s body is the sensitive soul of an artist. What starts out as a sizzling one-night stand soon becomes so much more.
Bee wants Maddox to join her tattoo business, but letting him into her life means revealing all her most intimate secrets. And as the past begins to intertwine with her present, Bee fears their love may not be as permanent as their ink . . .
What a ride! Masquerade is the third book in the Games series and just like the others, it did not disappoint! These books are filled with heartache, pain, anger and love–that keeps you wanting more from all the characters.
Maddox is the big brother of Laney, who we meet in Facade. We all know that dark family secret that Maddox, Laney and Adrian endured. And as hard as it was for Laney and Adrian to move on and to forgive–they did and did it together. But Maddox continues to hold a lot of blame and can’t seem to let it go, until he meets Bee. Maddox met his match in Bee.
Bee is a feisty owner of a new tattoo parlor, named Masquerade! She herself has guilt and secrets–I was shocked at how unique her story was–which made her character and story really interesting! Maddox and Bee worked together at the shop, but continued to fight their attraction and their denial of their secrets. For most of the book, they skirted around their issues (which drove me insane), but they both had to trust each other first. As time goes on and more secrets are unveiled and tragedy happens–it all changes for them.
Maddox and Bee were perfect together—they both were broken, but together they were strong. I loved getting more Laney, Adrian, Colt and Cheyenne in this book. Laney and Adrian’s story is still heartbreaking and it continued in this book! But the epilogue was the perfect ending to all their stories and they all seemed to find closure.
